I have a '92 Ranger, 5-speed transmission, 3.0L engine, 2-wheel drive. Can anybody tell me which other 5-speed transmission(s) (other than the one specific to my truck), will fit/work? In other words, will a transmission from a 2.3L, 2.9L, or 4.0L truck fit/work?

I dont think a 2.9 or 4.0 will work

2.3 is way out of the ball park

You will also need a computer that matches engine and transmission for it to work
