Exclamation Leaky Seal! How do I replace?! Pics included...

Pretty self explanatory. I bought this truck knowing it had a small leak around this seal coming out of the tranny. Its gotten a little worse. A couple drips a night it leaks out...It looks like the seal is popped out from the tranny...not sure how it is supposed to look though so I could be completely wrong on this.

Couple questions...

- I assume the leak is transmission fluid? so I should buy some fluid and make sure its full?

-I've got a shop manual for this but wanted everyone's thoughts first. Is this something you can do at home. I have plenty of tools, just need to know if there is something special I won't be able to do.

-Can someone tell me what this seal is called so i can research it in my manual and online?
-How big of an issue is this...?
Thanks in advance.

Pics.

This is the oil its leaking. Not a ton. This is a month's worth.

Thanks. Really just looking for some help here. no bullshit please. I wanna make sure this isn't a safety issue for the next few months or if this needs to be done pronto. Very low on cash and would like to do this myself. I've not worked on trucks much. Always been into fourwheelers...A lot of it is similar, just a lot bigger...I tried reading up in my Haynes manual and well, I still need help. It didn't do much for me.

its all fairly self explanitory once you drop the driveshaft. you'll see.

its pertinent that you get it done soon, but judging by the rate that its leaking you'll be fine for awhile until you get the $ to pay someone if you feel you cant do it, or the free time to give it a shot.

I don't even know how to get the drive shaft off...

Any procedures on this?

Here's how i think it will go lol...
Drain Tranny.
Mark joints to show how the shaft is lined up.
Just unbolt from the rear and pull it out? Sounds too easy....
Pull Old Seal out
Clean it all, put new seal in using press or large socket or piece of pipe etc...
put drive shaft back in
bolt it up in the back
fill with fluid...

Sound like im on the right track?

you're on the right track. shouldnt be a need to mark the joints though. be careful pressing the new seal in also, dont get too rough on it or you may damage it.

shouldn't need to drain the tranny but might as well at 106k.

Just go to your local parts house and tell them what you need. Simplify.
