Default 4x4 problem

my 1996 ford ranger wont engage the front wheels. i cant turn the passenger side axel shaft except about a quarter turn. and when i spin the driveshaft only the driver side axel shaft spins.

Auto hubs are junk. Buy some manual hubs and don't look back. Warns are the best but they cost $$

yea i want manual hubs but i dont have the money at the time. but i looked at the hubs on both sides and they look good. i cleaned them out and nothing is grinded and there arent any splines broken. but when i turn the drive shaft shouldn't both of the front axel shafts turn?

not necessarily open differential one with less resistance will turn first

so on my auto hubs how can i make them work again? i cleaned the outer part but i didnt take the cam and all that apart so should i take the rest apart?

there is a how-to on here somewhere that will basically lock the hubs 100% of the time

ok and just wondering but why does the 4x4 send power to the wheel with the least traction?

thats how an open differential works Limited slip is the exact opposite

and ill see if i can the one i was talking about
