Default rear gears

Can you install 456 gears in the 7.5 ranger rear end?

Why would you want that gear ratio? You gonna be running 37"-40" tires?

For those size tires, it'd be more like 4.88 or 5.13 minimum given the OP's avatar...

You really wanna look into 4.88's for sure. Especially with the 3.slow. And for 35's, I REALLLLY suggest finding a donor 8.8" axle or even the 31spline Explorer 8.8 w/ discs, then gear that axle. The strength increase would let it survive better with the heavier rolling mass and strains that the 35's are gonna give. Ranger 28spline 8.8 minimum IMO.

I rock the 4.0 and 35's w/ 4.88's and sometimes I feel it's not geared low enough. But that's the deepest gear you can go on the D35, so I gotta run it.

It'll be a 31spline 8.8 drum axle.

to put me back to stock-like gearing. compensating for the increased tire size and rolling mass. i had 4.10's and 30.5's stock....getting me back to stock equivilent, I'd need a 4.66 gear. since there's no available 4.66 gearing, my choices are 4.56 or 4.88. going to the 4.88 & 34.8's = 4% lower gearing than stock and also equals a lower crawl ratio. this added compensation takes care of some of the weighty issues too....so it's vitually driving like stock now.
