Default Oil Pan Remove for Rear Main Seal?

Making a new thread since I haven't got any good replys on my other one, but asking a different question

Two weeks ago: Clutch+Rear Main Seal done @ Ford
Now: Oil Leaking near between the engine & tranny.

Do you remove the oil pan to replace the rear main seal? Not sure if my rear main seal is leaking or if its the oil pan. Will need to look better in the morning.

Just need to know if the oil pan is required to be removed when replacing the rear main seal? On the 3.0L Vulcan engine.

You don't have to remove the pan to replace the rear main seal, but you do need to pull the trans, clutch and pressure plate, and the flywheel. But before you do all that, make sure the leak isn't from the valve covers, or oil sending unit.

Yea I am. Just want to make sure its most likely the rear main seal leaking & not the oil pan. I'm pretty sure on inline engines you need to remove the pan, and V engines you don't, but wasn't sure on this. And since its most likely the main seal leaking they will be replacing the new clutch plate as well. Isn't a huge lost to them as the plate itself is only $115.

Thanks for the answers, I'm taking it to them later today. Last time was a week without my Ranger, hopefully this time they can do it faster. >
