Default 2wd Into a Mudder help,

Hey guys, I have a 94 Ford Ranger Splash,
2wd 3.0L Automatic Tranny,

I'm starting this as my first project car,
I want to turn it into a 4wd Mudder/Trail truck

Any help on where to start?

Including Engine Mods,
My truck is still completely stock except for the stereo unit,

Any help would be much appreciated,

well the easiest way to do that would be SAS it. Just going to have to research

or even easier than that, sell it and buy a 4x4.

That takes the fun out of it, I know I want to drop in a 4.0L with Manual Transmission and Rig in 4wd, But, I'm not sure what else I should do,
I want this to be a total project car, and be able to say "I did it"
You know what I mean?
;p

If you're going to do an engine swap why not just go all the way and do a V8? It will help with turning those larger mud tires too.

ROFL.
Holy hell.
I don't know why that NEVER crossed my mind,

What Vehicle could I get a V-8 out of though that would fit?

The explorer 5.0 is without a doubt the most common route.

Alright!

Would I need to swap out transmission as well?

HAH!
nevermind
I realized how dumb of a question that was.
However

A real question would be

Are there 4wd Explorers?
