Default 1988 Manual Trans problem

Hey Guys,

Have a 88 i just picked up that has 131k miles and the 2.9v6. well the problems is the guy told me that he had the clutch replaced. well on my way home tonight i was sitting at a stop light and it was like trying to move and creep forward. then it was so hard to put in 1st gear and 2nd gear, and i hear a loud not grinding but almost like a howling noise. thinkin maybe they didnt replace the throw out bearing when they did the clutch?? or maybe other problems?? yikes! what do you guys think?!?

IF its hydraulic then you could have air in the system or a bad slave cylinder or master cylinder...

How hard is it to replace the slave cylinder? Gotta remove the trans? And I'm not sure how to bleed I wonder how much a shop would charge to bleed

----------

And how do I know if it's hydraulic?

It might be the pilot bearing wasn't replaced and its now trying to lock up.

Either way the trans has to be dropped right? And should I just replace the slave cylinder with it?

Slave cylinders are usually the problem. People think its the clutch and replace the clutch and still have the same Problem.
