Manual Tcase? I honestly don't think there'll be workable PVH hubs with a manual tcase unless you do some strange wiring that I've never really read about. Best bet is to put on those manual hubs, THEN you'll be good to go with no wiring mods or anything. Or convert to live axle. With live axle, all you gotta do is move the stick and you're in 4wd, PERIOD. No bs anything to take a poop on ya.
Bolting the case up is straight forward. Get a 90-97 Ranger case...it'll be a BW1354M which is what you'll want. It'll bolt right onto the tailhousing. Just make sure you've got two threaded holes on the driverside of your trans tailhousing. Those threaded holes are to mount the Tcase shift linkage. If you've got no holes, you'll need to find manual tailhousing with them off a 90-00 manual trans. You're lucky you don't have a 01+. Ford moved the speed sensor to in that tailhousing and those with manual tcase threads are VERYVERYVERY uuber rare. Most trannys in your gen already have the linkage threads.
