Yeah, kinda figured the part about the screws.
So this can all be done from inside the cab? Sounds pretty easy compared to other things I've done in the past.

I also had a couple of other questions. They aren't really related to the shifter though.
The truck misses somewhat when idling, and it also bogs down when trying to accelerate. My first thoughts were to replace the plugs and wires, along with the timing belt (since the previous owner had already bought a new one.) Am I headed in the right direction with these repairs?
EDIT: Oh, side note... The truck also makes a squealing noise when I rev the engine into high RPMs. This is mainly what prompted me to change the timing belt. Missing, bogging, squealing belt: Kinda screamed timing belt to me, but I could be wrong.
