Default do i have a transmission problem?

92 ranger I start in first gear, shakes in 2nd gear, humming noise at 40 mph in 4th gear, shakes when slowing down, have no idea what the problem is
i changed the wheel bearing, didnt help, is it a transmission problem.

First thing I would check is your U-Joints and carrier bearing(if one fitted) on your driveshaft...also check you transmission mounts and engine mounts.

should there be any slop in the carrier bearing? I mean i can grab the drive shaft, and there is a little movement where the carrier bearing is, could this be all my vibration , and shaking problems?
