Exclamation Help! My Ranger has a weird jerk!

2003 Ranger Edge 3.0 2WD.
Transmission shifts through all gears just fine, but will occasionally jerk when i let off of the accelerator. Almost as if its a hard shift. Very noticeable. Other times it will act as if its stuck in between two gears and is confused about which gear it actually wants to be in. I first noticed it when i was driving up an incline at about 10mph with a noticeable "pulsating whirrr" noise. Has the trans serviced and nothing unusual reported from the mechanic. Problem still persists. Help!!

I feel i have the same problem, a good friend of mine (mechanic) said it might be the TPS sensor. It makes sense to me, but doesnt show anything in the diagnostics. But will change soon.

But! He has the symptom that his transmission's not able to chose gear. It upshift n downshifts, not very noticeable, just very little.

Ok here we go. The check engine light is unrelated to my issue. Apparently the emissions guy didnt put my gas cap on correctly. I havent gotten gas since i had my emissions done last week. Check engine light was a result o a major evac leak. The gas cap. Ugh feels so stupid.

Anyway, cant figure out whats causing the jerk. Mechanic says everything looks good and no sensors ate throwing any codes. He doesnt know whats wrong and until it becomes more than an occasional problem he says not to worry about it. It may just be a characteristic of the trucks age and mileage.

...........

So ill just wait and see i guess........

My does the same thing, but mines a 5spd, so I don't think it's a shifting problem. It must be somethin else. People always think I'm bad at driving a stick, but it's this annoying jerk they feel
