Default Over geared? 27" tires...4.56 diff. Problems

Hey guys,
I have a 2.3l ranger with 5spd manual. My diff has been regeared to 4.56. Currently im running 31's but need money so i might sell the tires and go back to the stock 27's. I know i will be over geared. What damage can this cause to my truck if any?
Thanks as always!

No damage as long as the gears are set up correctly. Just bad fuel mileage if you do a lot of highway driving. If it's all city driving then your mileage will be the same if not better.

Your gas mileage will drop quite a bit, city and especially highway. You'd probably get better gas mileage with 32's actually Haha, but im not super familiar with regeared 4bangers.

So in short your dilemma sucks and it will cost you more in gas downsizing.

31's and 4.45 gears sounds about right. Why downgrade?
