Default Dead Torque converter or failed transmission?

My O\D light was flashing on my 03 6cyl 4L sohc automatic transmission ranger. Had it scanned the mechanic told me my torque converter was causing the O\D light to flash. I went to drive it home from the shop got like a half mile and the Transmission went out it was not driving or shifting into any other gear. After trying everything thinkable still not shifting not sure if my tranny is shot or the solenoid is dead.

If the code is P0741, you have a torque converter clutch (torque converter) a torque converter clutch solenoid, electrical wiring or possibly a clogged valve body issue. I just handled one of these. Not fun, but not something that someone with mechanical skills can't tackle. The code(s) that was/were pulled will give you insight into what is going on. Otherwise, you're aiming for the toilet in a pitch black bathroom!!!
