There has been much discussion about this in the past. a reman from Cardone or a new unit from Ford seems to be the general consensus on this item. Their must be a way to extend the life of these things, ie. lubing the upper bushings, etc.

x a bajillion! I picked up the sync and sensor from Geiser Ford on eBay for about $120 shipped for both. I cheaped out at first and bought the advanced auto special for the sensor which I later replaced with the motorcraft one. It took all of 20 minutes to swap mine out, having never done it before and that was without the alignment tool. Go slow, take your time, you will be ok.
