Default would a bad wheel bearing make a wheel lock up?

SO, i have a 97 4.0 4wd stx and im not sure if the whole rear end is going out, or if the left wheel bearing is out. the wheel wobbles a little bit while driving but its only gotten worse. It occasionally locks up when i'm breaking, probably for just a full second but its enough to skid the tire. Kinda scary. Anyway would a bad wheel bearing cause this, or a more major part of the axle/differential?

I don't think its the breaks, I've replaced everything but the wheel cylinders and the e break cable. The drums are straight.

although that wheel does get very hot, (im thinkin it the friction caused by the bad bearing.)

Change the bearing before you get into an accident and to prevent anymore damage to the truck. What are you waiting on???????

Make sure the brake is completely releasing too. If it's not completely releasing, it could be putting more pressure on that pad when braking, causing it to lock up before others. Jack it up and see if you can spin it by hand, and then start taking things off and seeing where the issue is coming from, whether brakes or bearing.
