Lightbulb 91 5 speed transmission wont go on!

hey im a ford noob and so far i hate them! i've always worked on jeeps and my buddy's ranger was having clutch problems so i said ok lets give it a try. anyways after a new clutch and humping the trans up it wont go in now its about an inch away from the rear of the engine and it will not go in for ANYTHING!!!! is that stupidass internal slave shot or jammed?

please help!!!!!

Its not the ranger its the person working on it. You said yourself your a ford noob.

Its not a ford problem, its the guy that put the clutch in and didn't make sure the clutch was lined up right with the pilot bearing.

Actually it was the ford... The internal slave was stuck in the out position.

Its still not a ford problem, its the failure of the mecanic to detect a potentiol problem upon examining the parts, and it is a common pratice to replace the throwout bearing with any clutch replace.

Its most likely the clutch is out of alignment or the splines are not lining up. The slave is hydrolic, it would not be pushed out/stuck out. Unless you have the line hooked up and pushing fluid thru it.

The clutch must be centered. The trans shaft has to line up to the clutch and the pilot bearing. If the disc is not centered, you will have a butt load of problems.

And if its about an inch, that tells me that the shaft is not going into the pilot bearing. Its hitting on the side of it.
