Default Regearing for Larger Tires

If i get 285/75/16 mud tires will i still have power and would i have to change the gearing. I have the 4.0L V6 and i think i have 4.10 gears.

No regear is necessary...you've got 4.10's already.

I have 3.73 and I'm running 265/70/17s. You guys think I need to do some power mods or just re-gear to 4.10s for the larger tires.

3.73 here too. Right now I am running 225/75/14's bleh. Truck came with some decent American Racing wheels though. I would like to eventually switch to a 15 or 16 inch wheel. How big of a tire can I get without changing to 4.10's?

Guys....google gearing charts. It's just like a multiplication chart, but using tire size and gear ratios.

IF you want to regear, fine. Your only option is 4.56 gears which will be WAY too much gear for your setup.

You will be fine without new gears. A 265 series tire is right between 31 and 32" tall. A 31" tire is a stock option on a Ranger
