Question "fancy" locking rear end??

hi, my ranger seems to jerk when i first get going, like if i sit at a stop sign then step into it good it jerks you back into your seat, doesnt make any noises, one of my buddies say its a locking rear end?? ive never heard of one, or is something bad in my transmission? ive recently put a new tranny filter and some new fliud in it, tranny seems pretty sound and solid, you can feel it shift from 1st to 2nd, but the rest of the gears are smooth, i have the 4sp with overdrive tranny, i forgot the model of the tranny...

How many km on the diff bc I have a buddy who's diff is stuck locked but he's got 350 00km (210 00mile) or ur diff has a leak and it's locking bc of no oil. If its the trany it would prob have a problem shifting into all gears

Short form check diff oil

A locking diff would not cause a jerk. even a full time locker wouldn't cause that unless you did it on purpose. this is one of those smoke comin from under the hood and your checkin your tires moment.. when you corner does one week drag or if your on the gas do you slide ?

----------

Also rangers did not ever come with a factory locker. if it does indeed have a locker then it's aftermarket full time. Cause they don't make a auto locking diff for a ranger the only make full time\air and e lockers for rangers

the odometer say 38xxx miles,so im guessing its rolled around once or maybe twice..., only time it drags to a certian side is if i brake hard, and i beleive i need alignment for the front end becuase we replaced the ball joints and sorta guess and tried to remmber where it was before, ive check ujoints and there tight, the rear end seems clean, not shoaked in wet grease or anything, should i start with new oil in it?
