Solid axle swap question
Ok I know the older f series vehicles are supposed a straight swap as far as width but what's necessary as far as attaching the steering shaft to the new axle, I mean I know I'm going to wind up cutting all the a arm mounts off and installing a leaf spring suspension just because I think it'll be easier than torsion or coil over but with the three inch body lift and the six more I plan to lift when I do the mod, what will I need to do with the steering column and shaft? Its at a pretty severe angle with the body lift and t bars tightened so I think something will need done to keep reliability, also is there another axle maybe six inches wider than stock that the driveshaft will not interfere with anything since I'm doing a 302/c4/and 4x4 conversion? Alot in one post but I want to know everything I'm getting into before I go and buy something that won't work on my truck... Not afraid to spend a little money but I don't have it to waste on parts that won't work together
