Default Breather extensions

Hey all, just thought I would start a thread on differential, transmission, t-case, and any other breather extensions that should be installed. I'm trying to sort out what I have for breathers, where they are, and where to extend them to. If another thread like this is already ongoing a link would be great and I'll shut this thread down. My truck is a 2010 fx4 5spd. On occasion i take her through river crossings in about 2-3ft of water and would like extended breathers to eliminate the chance of taking on water. Pics or first hand experiance would be a big help.

1/4in fuel house and some band clamps are all you need, my front diff, trans and Tcase are run up to near my computer in the engine compartment.

I have an 07 Diesel and bought a diff breather kit. It doesn't come with replacement breather to put in where the original one goes so i can attach the hoses. I am wanting a threaded 'spike' type fitting to allow the hose to be attached to the breather at the diff.

I can't find such a thing, what is the answer? How do you attach the hose to the Diff?

Look for a differential vent valve at a parts store or online

Does someone who has done it have a picture of how you connect the new tubing to the existing breather hoses? Or go take a picture when you go out to your truck next? Not sure how to add on the pipe most effectively.

You take the old hose off and add a completely new longer hose.

And is there a connector where it goes into the diffs, transfer case and trans?

Yes, what the original hoses are connected to.

You replace the original Diff Breathers with a new fitting that screw in where the original was. Pirahan 4x4 have vehicle specific fittings or take the original to a dealer, yoiu may have to find a hydraulic hose dealer to get the new fitting which is the same thread but has a "spike" that is a hose fitting to attach the breather hose to. The original Ranger diff breather has no riser and so is not designed to have a hose attached.
