Default Converting 2x4 to 4x4

I was wondering, could I convert my 2003 Ford Ranger 2.5TD D/C HiTrail 2x4 into a 4x4. The cost of selling this 2x4 and buying another secondhand would be about R50 000 and you never know what you are buying.
Can this be done at home if I can get hold of the correct parts?

No - It's going to be cheaper to just buy the truck.

Most of us here can't really give you a good answer. Your Ranger is TOTALLY different than our Ranger.
