Clunk sound, now it wont move
I was driving home from work this morning, and I tried downshifting from 5th to 4th. It wouldnt go into gear, so I just coasted till it finally fell into 4th gear. Then about a mile down the road, running about 60 in 5th gear, I heard a loud clunk. So I pulled off onto a side road and checked everything. U-joints seem fine, driveshaft is still there, no fluids leaking. So I got back in and tried to slowly take off in 1st. It made the clunking sound again. I checked under the hood, and it smelled like something was burning. I tried moving it one more time, and in 1st gear with the clutch all the way out, it wont move at all. It free rolls in neutral, obliviously, but it wont go nowhere in any gear. At first thought, I figured it to be a clutch problem (broken pressure plate, stuck slave cylinder) but if thats not the problem, I'd kinda like some advice on what else it might be. Anyone ever had this problem? The truck is a 94 Supercab XLT 5 speed 4x4. I know its got the 2 piece driveshaft, and I've seen threads on here about the center support being an issue sometimes. I'm towing it to the shop I work at tonight, so I can put it on the lift in the morning, but I'd kinda like to know what I'm getting myself into
