I added the lucas stuff and it is slowly getting better now. thanks for telling me about that stuff

I work at a Lube center and we use the T-tech machine it exchanges the new fluid with the old and when we add the new stuff sometimes we use what it called a platinum shift additive I tried it on my escort and it worked quite well, I will be doing it on my Ranger aswell as the pan kit service $14 for the filter and the gasket, the price is quite high the fluid is the largest cost and the machine is air powered kinda pricey but it's roughly what we charge.

I'm having the same issue with my 2005 Ranger. Automatic as well. It shifts well coming out of 1st to 2nd, but shift from 2nd to 3rd it shifts hard. I was wondering if there was a resolution to this?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Had mine rebuilt. You could try changing the fluid and filter first
