4x4 help

just purchased this ranger and found what i hope to be the one and only problem. this problem happens only when in 4hi or 4lo. when turning at very slow speeds at a sharper angle(parallel parking for example) the truck does not want to move. it will move very similar to that of the parking break being on, maybe a lworse. it drives fine going straight and at all times in 2wd. i have a 30 day warranty from the dealership but if its a simple problem i wouldn't mind fixing it myself.

also note...the truck is in awesome condition(no dirt anywhere, garage kept quality) and it is likely that the 4wd has never even before been used. could this help cause this problem?

Are you operating 4x4 on dry pavement? You should only use 4x4 on loose surfaces such as dirt or snow. If you are, that is because the transfer case is binding up. When you turn, all the wheels are turning at different speeds. With the truck in 4x4-low or high- there is no differential to take up the different speed between the front and rear tires.

it was on pavement...although it was raining not that that matters..
will try tomorrow on dirt and let u know what happens thanks!

when in 4wd u are not suppose to turn sharp as it will go mine does the same thing even on snow and dirt dont back up in 4wd either not to sure why but my step dad tells me its not good on the truck

Should of got a 2 wheel drive and just mashed it!
