Exclamation Rebuild, Remanufactured, Used, or??????

Hello fellow Ranger lovers. I have to figure out what I am going to do with my truck. Here's the background---Today I was driving I-5. Doing 70Mph in 5th gear with cruise control on. Out of nowhere there's a loud noise and what sounds like breaking parts. I steered my truck to the shoulder and turned it off. Immediately after, I turned it back on with my foot still on the clutch. Engine ran smoothly no problems there.

Still in neutral I took my foot of the clutch and I could hear grinding like I was putting it in gear without using the clutch... foot went back down on clutch pedal and nothing.

tried putting it in first. very hard to engage and none of the other gears wanted to engage either. tried to move the truck but wouldn't budge. Transmission is definitely broke.

Looking under the truck I notice there's fluid down there at back and front of tranny.

Call dad to tow me and when he's pulling me there's a constant clump clump clump coming from the tranny even in neutral.

I have put a new clutch and slave cylinder into her about 2k miles ago. Haven't had any problems with transmission until this unfortunate occurrence.

My truck is a 1992 Ford Ranger Ext Cab with a 4.0 litre engine. 4x2 drivetrain.

I'm somewhat mechanically inclined. I know my way around most tools. I know how to get tools I need. I know nothing about doing a rebuild but I want to attempt it.

I'd like input on what direction ya'll think would be best, financially my budget is about 1200-1500. I don't want anything more than stock. Not sure my trucks mileage because odometer doesn't work. probably close to 190k and change. I'll answer any questions I can. LETS DO THIS!

I dont think theres anything more to it than your trans is fucked...

Hell if im right, any manual from a OHV 4.0 should link up, i dont think year matters, you might be able to find a decent used one with low miles, otherwise rebuild or re-manned is your best shot, new your looking around 2k probably.
