Default Slave cylinder replacement

I'm working on my friends 98 Ranger with the 3.0 and 5 speed. The slave cylinder is going out, and he is in basic right now for the Army. His mom is paying me to fix it. I was just wondering what all is needed for this job and what else I should replace for him while I am there.

You might pull the clutch and check that while you're right there.

I did mine a year ago, I may not remember everything.

1. jack it up good and high.
2. remove drive shaft bolts at rear, slide driveshaft off tranny.
3. remove one crossmember bolt and let other side swing down, these are usually corroded, don't try cutting anything here if it is frozen. The rubber bushings are integral to the crossmember. support the tranny after doing this.
4. disconnect wires leading to tranny, a few are at the top and a bear to reach. might wait until you lower the tranny some
5. disconnect master slave line at tranny.
6. Unbolt the tranny from engine. You need to support the rear of the engine when you do this. Also letting the engine come down a little will allow it to pivot and give better access to the bolts. For the ones at the top I used about 3 feet of socket extensions. Some guys said they got them from the front near the firewall. I couldn't get my hands in there.

Definitely check the clutch for wear since you are opening everything up.

Anybody jump in here,. what did I forget?
