Default Disappearing Trans Fluid

Man, i am stumped.

I havent posted in a whiiile, but, i've been busy. My truck is coming along pretty well.

I had the trans rebuilt in september, and the work is guaranteed with a year warranty.

My problem, though, is that just like before i had it built, the fluid seems to disappear. when i first got the truck, the trans was in ok shape, and i kew a rebuild was in the near future, so i used it til it was unusable. It would start to slip, and i know that it was time to top the fluid off. i did this until i couldnt drive it anymore (to get all my money and as much use out of the old trans).

I never found a leak anywhere, so i assumed it was a seal in the trans that would leak when i was driving, while the fluid was under greater pressure.

Now, after the rebuild, the problem has started again. It slipped once about a week ago, so i checked the fluid, and it was low. Same deal, no visable leaks from the trans.

Could it be bad coolng lines to the radiator?
I think it might be, because theres trans fluid leaking from the front of the truck. I thought this was from the bad power steering pump (which i know needs rebuilding, its noisy as hell), but now im thinking its the cooling lines.

Does anybody have an experience with this?

check the cooling tanks on the side of the radiator. if theyre cracked, fluid will leak into the rad.

check to see if its filling the t-case. the input seal could be bad on the t-case allowing it to fill from the trans

I am going to vote for trans cooler in radiator. Look at your coolant. Remove the lines and hook up an external cooler. Look at the color of trans/coolant.

If it is going into the coolant through the cooling lines in the radiator, the cooling system will make that pretty obvious. The level will be rising and the coolant will look like crap. One the system is over capacity, it will start pushing into the reserve tank and that will look like crap too.

i don't have the ranger trans. experience yet, but from school they say that vacuum actuated solenoids on transmissions can sometimes leak and trans fluid will be sucked unto the engine via the vacuum lines. i have no idea if its not the front or tail seals, the pump, or the trans lines/cooler tanks.
