Angry Rear axle drain/filler plug stripped

I have 94 ranger and i was wandering if anyone head ant ideas on how to get a striped drain plug/filler plug out. The plug isnt located in the pan but on the axle housing its self, on this truck it doesnt have one on the pan. Its not the plug threads, its the top of plug were you would put a ratchet in. I cant even check gear fluid. Any ideas please.

Take it to a shop, have them weld a bolt to the fill plug, unscrew it and replace it.
