Default Aluminum driveshaft pros and cons

Hey guys
Looking to get an aluminum drive shaft for my truck.
Found one for 150.00
Is there any pros and cons about getting one?
Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I have no hands on experience on it, but I have talked with folks who have swapped to an alum shaft and they tell me they immediately noticed less resistance when accelerating. Also noted they got slightly better mileage after the install. But again, its hearsay..but it does makes sense. Less rotating drivetrain mass.

I'm still running the steel one but wouldn't mind finding a cheap alum one to throw on though.

Does 150.00 sound pretty good? I'm not sure what they run

It depends on year, drivetrain, etc. I know I've seen two trucks, exact same options, drivetrain, cab config, same exact year...one with alum, one with steel.

It's a tossup really. I don't think I've seen anything that specifically says "this gets this shaft, this gets the other one" or anything like that. Though I will say the newer the truck, the more likely it'll have an alum shaft under it. I think Ford started putting them in some Rangers in about the '00 model year or so.

My old 96 Ranger reg. cab long bed had an aluminum drive shaft in it. It was a 2.3 auto, so it needed all the help it could get to get the wheels turning.
