Default Tranny trouble 1998 ford ranger ?

I have a 1998 Ford ranger 2wd 2.5L with a 4spd auto tranny, and i believe it is starting to almost slip going down the road, does anyone thing a fluid/filter change would help the situation or where to get a rebuild kit? Or any other ideas
has 96K miles
Does anyone think that it could need a tune up.. I remember my buddy had a 99 chevy 2500hd and his tranny acted to slip but he did a tune up of plugs and wires and ran like a million bucks till he sold it.

If you've never done a filter change on it then that's a start. If the filter is clogged that will cause loss of pressure through the transmission. Replace the filter, top off the fluid, and then get a shop or dealership do a transmission flush.
