Default 1998 Clutch Help

Okay...When I get in my ranger I have to pump the clutch to get it to go in gear after about 10 atemps it goes into gear. the clutch feels loose....Do you think I should bleed it....or is it the slave cylinder. God I hope its not the slave cylinder

I'd bet it's the slave cylinder from what I've heard...
sorry bro but the only things I hear going out on rangers are fuel pumps and slave cylinders.

Looks like a slave cylinder might cost $80, (that is the high side online) and the labor time is going to be 2-3 hours. Guessing the labor time & rate is tough, but assume at least $85 an hour.
With that said, my GUESS, would be something close to $500.
If you call a dealer, they will give you a quote over the phone normally, just tell the service manager you need the slave replaced and want a quote.
Has the clutch ever been replaced? That is something else to think about, no sense doing the same job twice.

yes the clutch was replaced when the engine was put in, im kinda pissed because id didnt know about the slave cylinder at the time the engine was out and i should have replaced that along with the clutch damnit!
