Stop, place truck in park or neutral, step on brake. Then turn the knob. Try that and report back. There are numerous interlocks on the low-range shift.

Electric Tcase shift:

If Auto trans:
Brake pedal pushed.
Trans in Park or Neutral.
Turn Switch to low.

If manual trans:

Brake pedal pushed.
Trans shifter in neutral(I wiggle it left and right from neutral out of habit)
Clutch fully pushed to floor.
Turn switch to low.

Manual Tcase shift:

Auto trans:
Truck should be stopped.
Transmission in Neutral
Pull shift arm back into 4Lo

Manual trans:
Truck should be stopped.
Clutch to the floor
Pull shift arm back into 4Lo(or if you're pimp like me you can coax it in while rolling slowly)

You're changing output gear ratios, you must first stop any load of the engine to shift it into low, which would be pushing in the clutch or shifting into park or neutraul. When shifting into high, your not changing any gear ratios, plus the system is designed to be 'shift on the fly'.

Glad it works for ya.
