Default Transmission Leak

I have a transmision leak on my 2002 3.0 2wd Edge which originally appeared to be coming from the AT pan. I thought it was the pan itself so I retorqued the pan bolts thinking that would remedy the problem. My mechanic is replacing the ujoint as i post this message. He called and said the leak was coming from that round servo looking thing on the front passanger side of the tranny. He is reffering me to his tranny guy. Before I make the call, is there a way to remedy this leak without dropping the pan altogether? and what would I expect to hear from the tranny guy? I try do do all my own service to save money so any help here is appreciated.
