Default Rear Diff Fluid Change

Ok, so i know how to do it, but i dont know what weight oil i need. I also plan on running full synthetic, and am unsure of a good gear oil brand, I would like to run lucas, but not 100% sure that they have a full synthetic.

Also for Trans fluid, Any full synthetic Mercon ATF will work for the manual right?

for the diff you will need 90w if you have a posi aka limited slip i believe you will need the friction modifier....

and the tranny i believe you are correct i know a few of the guys here run synchro meshi in their trannies....

I will depend on your diff--I used Mobil 1 75W90 when i did mine--has the friction modifier in it. You'll need 3 bottles if you have an 8.8 with the limited slip. You won't use all of the 3rd bottle. Do yourself a HUGE favor and spend the 7 bucks for a pump that screws onto the bottle.

Unless there is a second tag on the differential specifying 75W140, it's 80W90. I believe there have been people posting here that there is a synthetic version of that weight available.

Hello! Is there a OEM gasket for the rear differential to replace, when I’m doing the drain and fill service? Or does everyone use rtv sealant? If sealant, which one is recommended.

I found a Felpro gasket on Amazon.
Fel-Pro RDS55341 Axle HSG Cover or Differential Seal https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C2GGAO..._LTb2Eb994VEF5
Or do you have a different recommendation for the rear differential gasket.

Just bought the truck and new to the forum. This forum is so helpful btw!
