does anybody know what kind of gear ratio i have in my rear diff? 2001 v6 4.0L 4x4

What does the door sticker number say?

Look at the door sticker and find AXLE

mines a 3.73. is that good or bad? i heard so much on the 4.10's does it make a difference?

Depends on what you use your truck for.

If you are doing alot of towing or 4x4ing, then 4.10 is where its at. BUT if you are doing alot of commuting, then 3.73's generally give you better mileage.

The lower the gear numbers, the less accel but higher top speed. The higher the numbers, the more acceleration and less top speed. For us that translates into lower RPM at highway speeds with a lower gear, and opposite for a numerically higher gear ratio
