Some deep pans have a step in them - one section is lower/deeper than the other. Many deep pans have fins for extra cooling and are made of aluminimnumim.
Does it have a drain plug? If it does, it is almost surely aftermarket but that doesn't mean it's deep.
If it is the stock pan it is not deep.

The only thing that should matter is 4x2 vs 4x4. The only time deep or shallow would matter is if the filter has the neck on it.
