Unhappy Too much clutch play!?

Ive noticed this happening in the past 4 weeks or so... Ive owned the truck for 2 months.

Anyhow, sometimes randomly the clutch pedal will go clear to about 3 inches of play before it engages. other times there will be somewhere around one inch of play and the whole throw of the pedal engages/disengages the clutch.

its an 01 4.0 five speed and I would really appreciate any information because its my vehicle I rely on for work every day.

I read on some other site for nissans that it could need bled but seeing as how this isnt a nissan...

At any rate thanks for any replys. Im getting desperate!

Soon to come: fender flare removal, tear off paint under them, replace with bedliner all the way around the truck, paint topper, fix window seals on topper, build roofrack for topper, install shit on roofrack, and make the inside of the topper livable.

It just might need a new slave cylinder . Im not 100% sure but that would be my first guess. I not entirely sure how the ranger manual is set up but, that would be my guess. and if it is the throwout bearing i would replace the clutch while I was in their.

I would not worry about it too much. If it gets worse I would have it checked out. Also take it to a few places not just one.
