I think you should double check your gears then. the 2.3 is not that much different then the 2.5. And my dads was a dog when he put the 235's on. Maybe cause your reg cab and dont have the extra weight of the ext cab...

After like 2004 or 2006, automatic 4 cylinders came stock with 4.10's. Don't think that ever changed later on.

The axle ratio is generally what folks are referring to when they talk about gear ratio. Your transmission has gear ratios too, but they depend on what tranny you have and what gear you're in.

There is also something called, "final drive ratio". That is is the ratio of engine rpm to wheel rpm. It factors in all the gear ratios in the drive train -- transmission, transfer case (if there is one), and differential.

your of no concern here since you have the 4.0. You will have the torque to turn a larger tire without re-gearing

Okay gotcha i checked some spec's on the net about 2011 xlt 4x4 supercab rangers and it says they can have a 3.73,4.10 but when i searched again the xlt says it has a 3.55 so i do have to go up to a 4.10 if i want to run bigger tires and do i only have to change the gears or is there tweaking of the tranny and drivetrain as well?
