Default Is a new driveshaft required?

So I have been hearing a clunking sound for some time now and while I was having a exhaust shop inspect my muffler they noticed that a ring/hub in the front of the driveshaft was free moving. He did not know exactly what it was but figured that I should take it somewhere to get it repaired and most likely its the driveshaft.

I did some research online and someone had the same issue as me and someone replied that the ring/hub was a vibration this true? My truck doesn't really shake so I am not sure if that's what it's for...either way the person said that a replacement of the driveshaft was needed.

What do you guys think?
