Default Wierd noise and clunk...

So my 93' 4x4 decided to clunk really hard yesterday when I cranked the wheel and then it felt like it was partially engaged in 4x4 on pavement, steering wheel had a bit of wabble and felt wierd so I engaged the 4x4 and then took it out and it went away. It did that again today and then I drove it on the highway and at 90km/h it started to make a zinging noise from the front end.. Any idea what this might be?? Or has anyone heard of this type of crap! Terrible timing as I'm supposed to travel up north in the next few days for forest fire fighting! Thanks in advance

sounds like a 4x4 hub is locking in on it's own. I know they changed to the vacuum operated hubs Sometime in the 90s so I might try there?

Ya thats what I'm thinking, I know mine are auto and after reading a bunch of forums about them, it sounds like they may need to be cleaned or else replaced.. I guess I'll take it apart tomorrow and find out! thanks man
