not in ford. its 3.73 or 4.10. I actually prefer 3.73 over 4.10. Mainly becuase im not running big ass tires, and my lifted ranger was turning 33's with 3.73's just fine. But for just a lil bigger than stock, 3.73 are nice, good grunt and good fuel on the highway.

as far as disc brakes go, exploder will be the best option. but will have some modification to make work. Spring perch and shock mounts are the biggies

they work together but 4.10s u get a little less of a good mpg (but barely noticeable as far as i know)

personally, i wouldnt run anything less than 4.10s BUT inall honesty thats just me i loveee my 4.10s haha

there both good. in my '01 with 4.10s and 235's ive been getting around 17-18mpg. In my 96 with 3.73 and 235's I get around 17-18mpg! lol. BUt the 96 is a stick, 01 auto, maybe that makes a difference.. but, in my 01 im screaming at 3k rpm at 70. in my 96, its around 2400 at 70. so there ya go

After i posted this i started paying more attention to my RPM's and speed and at 65mph i am at 2500rpm's mind you that i have 31's so does this mean i dont have 3.08 ?? how can i tell what i have??

door tag will have an axle code. and/or on the rear end there should be a tag. the tag should read like: 3L08 8.8 - 3.08 limited slip 8.8" or 3 08 7.5 - 3.08 open diff 7.5". or any combo of those.

its possible that the gears have been changed if your not the original owner. My plow truck read 3.55. When I changed them over to 3.73 I noticed junk yard markings on the ring gear I thought that was strange, I counted teeth after I pulled them out and the front and rear had been changed to 3.27. Thats a fine howdy do!

Damn, that's great gas millage, for having 33's. shit, my truck is all stock pretty much, and I get between 18 and 20ish.
