Looks like the rubber boot has come loose or has been damaged. Not sure if the splines are supposed to be sticking out that far or not.

Seems the rubber boot came lose.

You able to pull it back up. Should probably have something like a hose clamp on there

I believe half the boot is missing. Possibly dur to a prior regrease job that was botched.

I think its half there because I remember there being more than 3 folds and your boot is missin the "land" or "flat" that the clamp goes around.

Yeah, it is missing about 3 inches.
To secure those boots wherever they are, I like the good old wire tie, just pull them as tight as possible.
If your going to put the rig in the mud or go wheeling frequently, use a metal clamp.

You'll need to unbolt it from one end or the other. Personally, I'd unbolt the entire shaft from the truck, regrease it, and throw on your new boot and use hose clamps or have it done with the crimp-lock clamps like the factory(any plumber can do that for ya). No Ujoints need to be pounded out if they don't need replaced.

I don't know if you can get just a replacement boot, but I don't see why not. I've not really looked into it as I've never had that issue before. Call up the dealer. Rear shaft slip yoke boot for a 4x4.

The place I bought it from gave me a 18k/18mo warranty on it, so it will be their dime. maybe I can get new ujoints anyway :P

Got plans to be there when they open. If you have a link to that boot protector, I'd be all over it.
