Default 4x4 problem

i have a 2001 ford ranger 3.0 and my 4x4 stopped working , it used to work fine but now when i turn the shift on the fly knob nothing happens. i have checked all the fuses, in the cab and under the hood. neither of the 4x4 high and low lights come on and it doesnt engage. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas before i take it to get the computer checked?

Do the lights come on when you start the truck? I fried the switch and computer just shifting normally. Lovely crap system in these trucks.

Probably a bad 4wd computer. Switch it out with a buddy's or get a different on from the yard.

I believe any RBV, so long as the plugs are the same.
