a lot easier to learn to drive a stick than to swap an auto.

Yea man just learn the stick. It's not that hard at all.

Today's automatics are computer controlled, which makes the swap even harder than the old days. Definitely not worth it at all.

Like everyone else said, rock the manual. Real men use 3 pedals.

Easier/better to just learn manual. Trans swap = PAIN IN THE ASS!

Agreed learn how to drive the stick, just make sure you get someone to teach you that actually knows how to drive and not someone who uses the parking brake to start on hills and bullshit like that.

Of course if you wanted to swap just find someone with an auto that wants a manual and swap parts. Thats the easiest/cheapest way to go but its still a pain.

While I agree that you need to learn how to drive it, don't have anybody go with you for the first few trips around the block/on back roads. I found it a lot easier to learn how to drive it without any other distractions.

Not to get off topic. thou you should learn stick,..... but which is easier... going from standard stick with electric shift transfer manual hubs. to automatic with manual shift transfer with m/hubs... i know that the 2 transfer cases are a little different.. but anything is possible right ?? ideas ?

What year are we talking about?

I've done 2 manual to auto swaps and helped with an auto to manual swap.
