Default 1990 Power to Manual Steering

My 1990 Ranger developed a leaking pump and a badly leaking steering box. I was thinking of making both go away and putting manual steering on it to save some money and never have to worry about it again.

Is that feasible, will it mess with the engine computer somehow and cause more headaches? I am putting a 2" coil lift on it if that matters.

Any knowledge greatly appreciated.

Remove the pump and bracket, remove the hoses from the steering gearbox. fill the steering gearbox with power steering fluid. Install two (2) barbed fittings into the inlet and outlet on the steering gearbox. Loop a hose from the inlet fitting to the outlet fitting. You now have manual steering. May be a bit stiff to turn when sitting perfectly still, but once you inch a bit it will turn fine.

Its a swap out, all year Rangers (83-97) will work, just be sure to get the arm that attaches to it, as they are different then the PS ones.
I put one on my green 94 & my Son's 93.
