Default Brake pad suggestions

First, I hope this post is in the correct forum. I need to do the pads/rotors on my '04 FX4 II. When I bought it in March, the right front brake was grinding pretty badly. I think pads on that side have worn down to the backing material and they are grinding the rotor. So I'm assuming I'll have to do rotors too. I'm also worried that I might have a stuck caliper, because I can't imagine why the pads would wear faster on one side than the other.

Since I'm probably going to have to do rotors too, I don't want to have to replace them anytime soon. So I'm looking for suggestions: Autozone, Advance Auto, etc. Do you guys/gals recommend any particular brand?

I don't want a pad that's so hard that it overheats the rotors too quickly and causes them to warp. I know they are vented, but they can still warp. And they aren't cheap, so I don't want to piss through a pair of rotors in a year and have to do it again. So I'd like to get pads that are a little bit "softer," i.e. something that won't heat up the rotor as quickly if I have to do some hard braking.

Thanks in advance.

Go with wagnor Thermoquiets. Great product. And you could have just posted this in the general tech section.

EBC is a good brand for rotors, a little pricey, but a great product. I believe they make pads too. Hawk also makes brake pads if you are looking for a little performance.

I just put Centric Premium (not drilled/slotted) rotors on a couple months ago. I ran them on my Impala when I had it and they never warped, even with the oversized Camaro calipers I had.

I had Akibono (German quality/made in USA) brake pads
On my Mustang. These were the BEST pads I have ever used!
No black brake dust
No brake fading
No high heat build up
Stops on a dime and gives you change!
