Are you talking about the caliper brackets? You have to notch them so they slide around the axle tube and bolt to the inside of the axle flange. Won't work on the 31spline.
....but idk if that is what you re talking about as it referred to Shane....

You have to notch it because it has to fit on the inside of the flange to get the correct position of the caliper to go over the rotor. They only fit 28spline though. 31spline need to go either expo rear brakes, or use the currie bracket in the link.

You can also buy an aftermarket bracket that uses all 4 bolt holes, and it kicks inward to get the correct offset of the caliper.

I vote stang as it's a complete bolt-on and a far superior parking brake design that uses the caliper instead of drums which btw, are a BITCH to work on(expo brakes).
so ur saying all you gotta do is unbolt the rear discs off a GT stang and bolt em onto my rear axle?
sounds way too easy lol

Yes. Read through the rest of the thread and you'll find your info. I'll link to my brothers page from RF later. Tons of info in it.

Hardest part really is working out the brake lines really. Gotta pull the axle shafts but that's stupid easy.

I would like to but it is really not in my top priority at this time. I am having some issues with my back brakes however and I have a feeling the drums are having some issues...which might have just bumped this back up no the priority list.

Right now, when I dont drive the truck for a few hours, especially when it is cold/damp, the back brakes lock up when i come to a complete stop the first time or two.

Pulling the axles is not a problem, just a little messy. In the end it will work to your favor if you do the clip eliminator modification at the same time and you'll end up with fresh lube in the rear end.

Hey, just a question.

Anybody know if Ford still sells the brake kit for a 94-04 Mustang? I'd really like to do this mod to my Ranger...finding out more and more I don't like the stock brakes...

By the way, the other thing I wanted to know is, what exactly is the clip elimination mod? If it helps during a changeover (i.e, disc brakes from drum brakes), I'd probably want to do it, especially if it eliminates chronic problems with the mod I'm doing.
