Default Shift Kit Help

I was looking to install a shift kit one my Ranger (check sig for details). First off, this was the kit I was looking at http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/...-000023935.htm Is this one any good, or are there better options?

Next question. I have no idea what it takes to install a shift kit, but I assume it is something that can be done without removing the transmission. My questions is, what does it take? What special tools will I need.

I know I will need a new pan gasket and will need to get new Mercon V fluid and will want to change the filter. Are there any other gaskets I will need?

Also, are there any other parts that will be easily accessed that I may want to change since I am working in there anyways?

I highly appreciate any advice!

All a shift kit is in tiny little springs inside the valve body. All you have to do is drop the pan, take the filter out, and remove the valve body. The kit should come with 2 valve body gaskets (valve body is a 2 peice design). Be very VERY careful how you install it and make SURE it's in a clean dust free environment.

^B&M is a reputable name as well as Hurst...Im not sure if they sell a kit for your tranny though. You really dont need special tools, just normal wrenches and stuff. The kit should have detailed instructions. Listen to me telling you how to do this...I've never installed one of these...lol
