Default 4 x 4 question

Ok.
88 ranger.302 motor manual hubs.
I put it in neutral or park lock hubs. Put it in 4wd front shaft spins. Tires do not spin. I have 5 lug Ford axel... no clue what it comes from.
So my questions are
Is my axel shot? And if there's no fix.

What truck do I need to rape for an axel.

Do the ujoints at the steering knuckle spin when the front driveshaft spins? If they DO then the diff is spinning and the hubs/lockouts are not. If the ujoints are NOT spinning then the diff has a problem and you need to pop the cover off and find out.

If you can't test it, stick a screwdriver in each front u joint and try it, if it flies our or breaks, you have a working diff,

DOn't be surpsied to see one side spin and not the other, unless you have a locker... then be surprised

If the u-joint spins inside the steering knuckles than everything in your differential should be good.

It means your hubs are not locking the wheel /outer onto the axleshaft AT THE WHEEL.

You need to go to the junkyard and get everything from the axle shaft OUTWARD to the wheel on both sides of the axle. And start pulling yours apart to see what's broken in your hubs
