i like mine, i did break one last winter but that was my own fault, i was backing up into a parking spot at work, there was alot of snow piled up from plows and i didnt want my front end sticking out in the traffic lane, so i had put it in low range and started backing up, figured the back end would either climb the snowpile or push it back some, what i didnt think about was that the front axle was on cleared pavement and the rear axle was on snow, so when the back bumper started pushing snow, the load of the snowpile and the weight of the truck were all on the front axle as the rear tires were slipping in the snow, the internal lock ring in the drivers side hub broke apart-in 3 places! im just glad it wasnt a transfer case chain or front diff spiders. all the other winter use ive had with the hubs have been trouble free, including pulling a mini-van 1/4 mile backwards with the brakes locked. ive heard that M.M. hubs break easily in hard-core off-road use, but my snow useage is pretty hard at times and other than that one time that clearly was more load than any hub could have took, i feel they are well worth getting. i still have the stock auto hubs, (had to use them as backup last winter after that one hub blew) but the mile markers have proven to be good for my useage. i couldnt get just one hub when i broke that one last winter, so now i have a spare hub if i need it. i did think it was kind of neat how the hub body wasnt fractured, if i could have got a replacement sliding lock ring and the gear that slid over the axleshaft, the hub would have been rebuildable. guess they would rather sell another set of hubs at $180 vs $50 for a rebuild kit.

the hub body is a alloy of some sort, the lock ring (that broke) and the axle coupler gear it meshes to are steel, the only plastic is the knob you turn and the part that pushes the lock ring against spring tension to couple the hub body to the axleshaft gear.
